About the Camp Board

Founded in 1922, Hervida 4-H Camp, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) youth organization consisting of a 27-member, volunteer Board who is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Hervida 4-H Camp. This 202-acre, seasonal camp facility is located near Waterford in Washington County, Ohio.

Our Mission

Our mission is to develop an appreciation of outdoor residential camping for the recreational, social and educational development of youth and adults.

About Camp Hervida

Hervida 4-H Camp is a full service complex serving the needs of 4-H youth groups, school classes, band camps, cheerleading camps, church groups, clubs, families and area businesses.

Camp Hervida is nestled along the banks of Wolf Creek approximately four miles south of Waterford, Ohio. Situated on more than 200 acres in the beautiful hills of northwestern Washington County, it is available from April through October for rentals.

  • Sleeping Cabins, Handicap Accessible Restrooms, Dining Hall, Kitchen and Flag Assembly Area

    Twenty-one cabins comfortably house up to 230 people. All cabins have bunk beds and are divided among boys, girls and staff.

    The spacious Dining Hall has 16 tables for serving family or buffet style meals. Freezer storage, refrigeration, ice machine, dishwasher, cooking utensils and tableware are provided. Food service is available.

  • Swimming Pool, Volleyball Court, Basketball Court, Ball Field, Shooting Range, Horseshoe Pits, Recreation Hall, Craft Hall and Activity Building

    The Craft Hall, complete with fireplace, stage, tables, benches and animal diorama, is perfect for daytime activities or rainy campfire nights.

    The Swimming Pool, available from June 1 through August 31, is a 32 x 75 foot, handicap accessible pool with deck and diving board.

    The Recreation Hall is a 40 x 112 foot open-air pavilion perfect for games, dances and large group gatherings.

  • 130 Acres of Woodlands, 20 acres of Open Fields, Hiking Trails, Intermittent Creek, Grindstone Quarry, Amphitheater, Nature Center and Diorama

    Hiking trails winding through the diverse hardwood and evergreen forest provide a study of nature.

    The Nature Center is a great place to study wildlife, look at displays or hold a small group gathering.

    The Amphitheater consists of recycled lumber benches, cement pad and fire pit for various programs and stargazing.
