Hunting Policy

Hervida 4-H Camp Inc.

Hervida 4-H Camp, Inc. agrees to participate in the Ohio Cooperative Hunting, Trapping, and Fishing Project through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife. All guidelines of their program are adopted by Camp Hervida.

No trapping is allowed. Presently, there is no property available for fishing.

Hunting of any species allowable by law is permitted from November 1 to February 1, except on Sundays, which will be the "season" referenced to in the permit. When demand for the use of the camp facility changes, this time frame will be adjusted. No hunting is allowed when there are camp activities.

Permits to hunt are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Persons under the age of sixteen (16) can be issued a permit only if they will be accompanied by a licensed adult who must also obtain a permit. Each individual wishing to hunt on Camp Hervida's property must have a permit.

A maximum of 75 permits can be issued. A permit is counted when it is completed by the hunter and signed by Camp Hervida's agent. Permits given out but not returned are not valid or included in the count. No permits can be issued over the telephone due to requiring the hunter's signature.

Permits are available after October 1 from Hervida 4-H Camp, Inc., c/o Ohio State University Extension, 1115 Gilman Avenue, Marietta, Ohio 45750. Signed permits can be mailed back to the sportsman if a self-addressed, stamped envelope is included when mailing the permit to the above mentioned address.

Upon receiving a permit, the hunter also shall receive a copy of Camp Hervida's written hunting policy and property boundary map including no hunting zones.

Permits shall be returned to Hervida 4-H Camp, Inc. at the above address when the hunter concludes hunting.

Signs and permits furnished by ODNR, Division of Wildlife are to be posted in accordance with the program's guidelines. Additionally, a sign indicating that hunters may be in the area is to be placed on the main camp gate.
