Hervida Hike

We’re pleased to announce a brand new event in 2026. Please join us for Hervida Hike on Saturday, April 25, 2026!

There will be two different hike options:

  • a self-guided option with trail maps available, or

  • a guided hike with Hannah Swope from the Washington County Soil & Water Conservation District. During the guided hike, you’ll learn about tree and plant identification, wildflowers, habitats, invasive species, and much more!

Hiking Trail Details:

  • There is a short uphill walk (approximately 0.1 mile) from the pool area to the White Oak Loop trailhead.

  • White Oak Loop Trail is approximately 0.2 mile from start to finish, ending near the Recreation Hall & Campfire area.

  • The Long Trail Splits off the White Oak Trail and ends near the Nature Center beyond the girls’ cabins. The total length of the trail is approximately 0.36 mile when starting with the White Oak Loop Trail. The trail can be hiked out and back or you can hike back through camp passing the girls’ cabins, dining hall, etc. The distance from the end of The Long Trail to the Main Gate is approximately 0.32 mile.

  • There is little to no elevation change throughout the majority of both trails within the open woods, however, both trails have short stretches of uphill or downhill elevation change.

We’re excited to have the community join us as we enjoy our beautiful camp’s trails. Everyone is invited to this free family-friendly event! We will be hiking rain or shine. Please bring your own snacks and drinks.

Please register to let us know you’ll join us here.

Take-out is available, but the meal is best enjoyed at camp in the Dining Hall. Get there early, the meals sell out quick! No advanced tickets are sold.

Volunteers can assist by bussing tables, donating desserts, or by donating items to the country store.

Hervida Building Fund Drawing & Silent Auction

This is a large fundraiser, which raises the funds needed to keep the campgrounds up and running. A delicious dinner is served and there is plenty to keep you entertained throughout the event. Silent auction tables are full of treasures, Tom Webster drawing tickets and announcing lucky winners and donors, and there are always other fun opportunities to make a donation! Tickets are available from board members, and a few will also be available at the Washington County OSU Extension Office. Need not be present to win.
